Current Opportunities
Board Member

EAN is currently looking to add additional Board members. Regular meeting attendance is required. Prior non-profit Board experience, and/or experience with fundraising is preferred. We are also looking for instructors, counselors, school administrators, teachers, and professors to join the Board of Directors. Research, Writing and Reasoning Instructor

Our reading and writing courses cover subjects such as grammar, writing mechanics, critical thinking skills, evaluating research sources, time management, and study skills. Volunteers may also assist with curriculum development. The number of hours required will vary depending on the level of involvement. Volunteer instructors should feel comfortable teaching in front of a class of 20 or more students. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
 

Science Instructor

Volunteers may teach our science review courses, as well as the scientific reasoning portion of the ACT course. Curriculum development opportunities also exist. Instructors must be proficient in general Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. Other science areas are also helpful. The number of hours required will vary depending on the level of involvement. Volunteers should feel comfortable teaching in front of a class of 20 or more high school students. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
 

Math Instructor

We are looking for volunteers to teach various math courses, and/or assist with curriculum development. Volunteers must have math proficiency in the following areas: arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Proficiency in pre-calculus and calculus is required for our advanced courses. The number of hours required will vary depending on the level of involvement. Volunteer instructors should feel comfortable teaching in front of a class of 20 or more students. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
 

Instructor (PSAT/SAT/ACT)

Volunteer instructors are needed to teach one or more of the following courses: PSAT, SAT I, ACT or various SAT II subjects. Volunteers may also assist with curriculum development. Must have strong skills in either math or English and Language Arts. The number of hours required will vary depending on the level of involvement. The volunteer instructor should feel comfortable teaching in front of a class of 20 or more high school students. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
 

Graduate and Professional Course Instructor (GRE/LSAT)

Volunteer instructors are needed to teach courses for the GRE and/or the LSAT. Volunteers may also assist with curriculum development. The number of hours required will vary depending on the level of involvement. The volunteer instructor should feel comfortable teaching in front of a class of 20 or more adult students. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. Prefer volunteers with experience taking these graduate school entrance exams.
 

Volunteer Services Coordinator

Volunteers assist with volunteer recruiting and other related tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important in order to effectively work with potential volunteers. Human Resources experience and non-profit volunteer recruiting experience are a plus.
 

Registration Coordinator

A volunteer is needed to manage the registration process of our program. This role may include answering phone calls and email, maintaining rosters and preparing orientation class packs, and following up with students and parents to ensure all students complete the course and have questions answered.
 

Individualized Study Instructor

Instructors are needed to work with students participating in our Individualized Study Program. Instructors work with students one-on-one on a variety of subjects, including math, language arts, science, and standardized test (PSAT/SAT/ACT) preparation. Though a set curriculum is used, instructors also provide general tutoring and mentoring as needed. Teaching or tutoring experience is preferred, but not required.
